Who are we?

On a daily basis, you will have to:
- Participate in the definition of safety review requirements for various projects (conceptual, preliminary and detailed engineering) to ensure the safety aspect.
- Supervise junior and intermediate process safety engineers.
- Facilitate safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, Bow-Tie).
- Guide the team of junior Intermediate engineers who prepare safety reviews (Process Safety Information (PSI) definition and division of nodes, participate in an review consequence studies).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in industrial or consulting engineering including a minimum of 5 years in safety reviews.
- Excellent knowledge of PSM elements (Process Safety Management).
- Proficiency of HAZOP, LOPA and What-if risk management methods.
You’re the one we’re looking for if you have:
- Relevant experience in consulting engineering.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of explosions, dispersion of toxic substances, and thermal radiation.
- General knowledge of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.119 Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Chemicals.
- General knowledge of the CSA Z767-17 (R2022) standard
- Knowledge of instrumented systems
- Excellent ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage meetings effectively (safety review sessions).
- Good communication skills with business leaders on key issues.
- Availability for occasional short-term trips (1 to 2 weeks).
- Fluency in French and English required occasionally since the person will collaborate with colleagues and clients outside of Quebec, both written and oral.
- Experience as a safety review facilitator using the “BowTie” method (asset)
- Experience in consequence modeling (PHAST) (asset)
